Adore that Dish is a personal dining journal that lives in your pocket. Point your camera at any restaurant menu — printed, handwritten, or on a chalkboard — and the app reads it, structures it, and saves it to your personal collection. No typing required.
Once a menu is saved, you can log meals against individual dishes: add a star rating, jot down a note, and attach a photo. Over time you build a rich record of everywhere you've eaten and everything you've loved.

Adore that Dish is built around a simple principle: your dining data is yours. The app does not collect, sell, or share your personal information.
All restaurants, menu items, meal logs, ratings, restaurant reviews, notes, and photos are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This data never leaves your device except as part of a standard iCloud or iTunes backup, which you control entirely through your iOS settings, or when you explicitly choose to share a restaurant via AirDrop.
Location access is used to show nearby restaurants in the Nearby tab and to power the Home Screen widget. Your location is processed on-device and is never transmitted to us or stored on any server we operate.
The widget reads a small snapshot of your nearby saved restaurant and its top dishes from a local App Group container shared only between the app and the widget on your device. This data never leaves your device.
Sharing a restaurant sends its data (name, address, menu, and coordinates) directly to the recipient's device over AirDrop's peer-to-peer connection. This transfer does not pass through any server we operate.
Camera access is used to photograph menus and dishes. Photo library access is used to pick photos from your library for the same purposes. Photos are stored only on your device and are never transmitted to us.
When you choose Claude or DeepSeek as your AI provider, the text extracted from your menu photos is sent to that provider's API to be structured into dish names, prices, and descriptions. This text is sent using your own API key and is subject to that provider's privacy policy and terms of service. We have no access to this data and do not store it. Menu photos are never transmitted — only the extracted text.
The On-Device provider processes everything locally using a rules-based parser and Apple's on-device OCR, or — on supported iPhones — Apple's on-device Apple Intelligence model. Either way, nothing is sent to any external service.
If you enter an API key for Claude or DeepSeek, it is stored in the iOS Keychain on your device. It is never transmitted to us and is used only to authenticate requests you initiate directly to those providers.
This page uses no cookies, no analytics, and no third-party scripts. No personal data is collected by visiting it.

When reporting a scanning issue, it helps to include your iOS version, device model, which parsing method you were using (Settings → On-Device → Parsing Method), and ideally a description of the menu layout. Screenshots are always welcome.
